How to access the store customizer

To access the store customizer, go to your  Sellfy account > Store settings > Customization

The store customizer allows you to edit and customize different elements of your Sellfy store so that you can create a unique look and feel for your store that best fits your brand and products.

How does the store customizer work?

Your store will be made up of  Pages that consist of different Modules. You'll start by creating a page and then adding your desired modules to the page to build your store. By default, each page that you add to your store will contain a Navigation module and Footer module.

Home page

The first page you'll see when opening the customization tab is called  Home. The Home page, as all other pages, already includes the Navigation and Footer module.

Besides the customary Navigation and Footer, you can add other modules to this page. For example, you may add a  Hero block and Text panel to your Home page.

Note: all edits made to the Navigation module are automatically applied to all pages.

The navigation lists all of your pages at the top of each store page. To edit the Navigation module, click on the pen icon. In the Module block section, click S, M, L for a variation of block sizes. Below the sizes, add a logo and enable store features (Shopping cart and Store search).

In the Content section, you can make changes to the text and background color and align the menu (store pages) shown in the navigation bar.

Note: the footer is located at the bottom of your pages(s) and all edits made to the Footer module are applied to all pages.

The footer lists all of your pages and social profiles at the bottom of each page. To edit the Footer module, click on the  pen icon. In the Module block, choose from SML for a variation of sizes and change the background color.

Use the Content section to edit the text color, and Social links section to link to your Instagram, Facebook, Youtube and other social channels.

General settings and global styles

You'll find the general settings at the bottom of your sidebar menu.

Click on General settings to edit the following elements of your store:

  • Store name
  • Tab icon
  • Enable/disable store features (the shopping cart, store search, and related products)
  • Background color, text and Buy Now button styles

How to create a page

Important! Make sure to save any changes you make in the store customizer by clicking Publish before you close the customization tab.

To create a new page, click the arrow icon followed by  + Add new page. Enter the page title and slug in the Page settings

Note: The Navigation (top) and Footer (bottom) modules will automatically be added to each new page.

Click on the little arrow of the Page settings to the right. Here you can:

  • Edit or delete a page
  • Change the title and/or slug
  • Hide a page from your store by turning the Visible toggle off (this can be useful if you are working on a page for a longer period of time and don't want the page to be live in your store before you have finalized it)

How to add modules

Store modules are the building blocks of each of your store pages.

To add a module to a page, you first select the Page. Then, click the green Plus icon and select a module from the five modules below. When adding a new module, you can copy the existing settings or create a new style.

Note: To reorder modules, click on the handle to the left and drag-n-drop to rearrange.

Modules will appear in the order you add them to the page, starting from the top with the Navigation block and finishing with the Footer block at the bottom. In total, there are five additional modules to choose from:

1. Hero block

This module allows you to use an image and text together in one block. You can add a background color if your image does not cover the entire block or use the Cover all or Repeated pattern to fill in the entire space. Enter a title and subtitle, edit the text color and align the text left, right or center.

You can add multiple Hero blocks to one page.

2. Text panel

This module is most useful for an About page, to create a unique Home page or highlight information on any particular page. Click Show container to see a different variation of using this module. You can also edit the background and container color.

To edit the font, go to General Settings > Global styles

3. Newsletter form

Do you have a newsletter and/or want to create an email list? Add a newsletter form to invite store visitors to sign up for receiving news from you. Make sure to use an inviting and action-oriented title so customers feel more excited to opt-in.

4. Products

Important! You can only add one of the Products modules per page. It's not possible to add more than one of the Products modules to any pages.

Add the Products module on any page that you want customers to be able to shop for your products. For example, you may want to dedicate the Home page to your brand story and exclude products from this page.

If you are using product categories, these will be displayed at the top of the Products module. You can rearrange the order of categories by dragging and dropping them inside the module block.

5. Contact form

It's important to give customers a way to connect with you and ask questions. Make sure to add your contact form on at least one page. Most creators will choose to add this form at the bottom, before the Footer, of one of their main pages.

You may also decide to dedicate an entire page to Contact so that customers can find it easier in your store. You can create a page, use Contact or Get in touch as a page title and add the Contact form module. The page would include the default navigation and footer block, with the Contact form as the main module and may look something like this:

To delete a module, click on the  pen icon of the module, then Delete module at the bottom of the settings.

Q: Can I create a landing page?

A: Yes, you can use the Home page as a landing page. You may add a Hero block and Newsletter form to the page only and exclude products to give it the look and feel of a landing page instead of a store page.

Q: Can I embed a video or audio file on a page?

A: It's not possible to embed iframes or other videos at this time. You can add a media preview to product pages using YouTube, Vimeo or SoundCloud, however.

Q: Can I remove the powered by Sellfy logo?

A: Yes, if you have a Business or Premium subscription, you can enable the white label solution by turning the toggle switch Show Sellfy branding off at the bottom in the General settings sections. This feature is not available with the Starter plan.
