How to access the Store Customizer

To access the store customizer, go to your  Store settings > Customization

The Store Customizer allows you to edit and customize your Sellfy store so that you can create a unique look and feel that best fits your brand and products.

How does the Store Customizer work?

Your store will be made up of  Pages that consist of different Modules. You'll start creating and designing by adding Modules, to add content to your store. By default, each page that you add to your store will contain a Navigation Module and Footer Module.

Page Settings Home

The first part of your Customizer that you'll see when opening the Customization tab is called the  Page Settings Home. Here, like all other Pages, you'll see content made up of Modules. This will already include the Navigation, Footer, and a Products Module. We also include a Contact form that customers can use to reach you. You'll see this, that also see any other Pages that you choose to create. These will be linked to your Navigation Module.

Besides the customary Navigation and Footer, you can add other modules to this page. For example, you may add a Hero block and Text panel.

Module Home

To add Modules to your Store, you'll select Home in the Page Settings Home menu. There, you'll see all available Modules.

To see more on each type of Module, please read here.

The Navigation lists all your linked Store Pages, Products, Categories, and any Custom URLs. These will be shown on each of your Pages.

To edit the Navigation module, click on the pen icon or select the Module on the page. You can edit the logo shown, size, color, border, alignment, and more!

The Footer lists all of your linked Store Pages, Categories, Products, and social profiles at the bottom of each page. To edit the Footer module, click on the pen icon. In the  Module block, choose from SML for a variation of sizes and change the background color.

You can easily add Social links to connect your Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, and other social media.

General settings

You'll find the general settings at the bottom of your sidebar menu. Click on General settings to edit the following elements of your store:

  • Store name
  • Head Code (used for code that applies to your entire store)
  • Logo
  • Enable/disable store features (the shopping cart, store search, and related products)
  • Background color, and Buy Now button styles

How to add Terms and Conditions (T&C) for your store

Note: The Terms and Conditions that you apply to your store are entirely up to you. Sellfy does not provide a T&C agreement for your store.

  1. Navigate to your Store Customizer
  2. Select +Add page
  3. Choose a Title and enter /terms for the URL slug
  4. Select +Add module > Text panel to add text
  5. Select Publish

Make agreeing to T&C mandatory for your store

You can make agreeing to your store's terms and conditions mandatory for customers. If you enable this function, customers are required to tick the checkbox and agree to your terms and conditions before they can make a purchase.

Important! If you don't see the option to make agreeing to T&C mandatory for your store, check that the URL slug of the T&C Page is saved as /terms. The URL slug for the T&C Page must be /terms for the option to appear.

To do this:

  1. Open your Store Customizer
  2. Select the Checkout module and click the pen icon
  3. Scroll to Mandatory T&C agreement
  4. Turn the toggle switch (it will switch to green)
  5. Click Publish

How to create a Store Page

To create a new page:

  1. On your Home Page, select the blue button + Add new page
  2. Enter the page title and the URL slug in the Page settings
  3. To add content to the page, select + Add module
  4. When you've finished, press Publish.

Note: The Navigation (top) and Footer (bottom) modules will automatically be added to each new page.

To edit a Page later on, simply click the page from your list on your Home Page.

How to add Modules

Store modules are the building blocks of each of your store pages.

To add a module:

  1. Click anywhere on your store and modules
  2. You'll be able to edit the module you've selected
  3. To add a module or select another, use the back arrow
  4. Select + Add module
  5. Select the new module to add or add a copy of a previous version

Types of Modules

Note: To reorder modules, click on the handle to the left and drag-n-drop to rearrange.

Modules will appear in the order you added them, starting from the top with Navigation and finishing with the Footer at the bottom. In total, there are five additional modules to choose from.

1. Hero block

This module allows you to use an image and text together in one block. You can add a background color if your image does not cover the entire block or use the Cover all or Repeated pattern to fill in the entire space. Enter a title and subtitle, edit the text color and align the text left, right or center.

You can add multiple Hero blocks to one page.

2. Text panel

This module is most useful for text and images, to create a unique Home page or highlight information on any particular page. Click Show container to see a different variation of using this module. You can also edit the background and container color.

To edit the font, go to General Settings > Global styles

3. Newsletter form

Do you have a newsletter and/or want to create an email list? Add a newsletter form to invite store visitors to sign up for receiving news from you. Make sure to use an inviting and action-oriented title so customers feel more excited to opt-in.

4. Products

Add the Products module on any page that you want customers to be able to shop for your products. For example, you may want your home page to be a dedicated landing page for your brand story and exclude products from this page.

If you are using product categories, these will be displayed at the top of the Products module. You can rearrange the order of categories by dragging and dropping them inside the module block.

5. Contact form

It's important to give customers a way to connect with you and ask questions. We recommend adding a Contact form module or adding a Contact Page to your store.

You may want to customize the title of the Contact form to make it more personal.

To delete a module, click on the  pen icon of the module, then Delete module at the bottom of the settings.

6. Embed Module

The Embed module can be used to add any custom code such as Javascript, HTML, and CSS to your Sellfy store. To add some custom code, you'll need to go to your Store Customizer and then add the Embed module.

See an example of an embedded YouTube video below.

You can also embed a feed from Instagram, third-party chat, review tools, and much more!

How to add a product category as a store page

If you're using Product categories for your products, you may want to create a page for a particular category that customers can access from the navigation menu. That way, only products belonging to the selected category will be shown on this page.

To do this:

  1. Go to the Store Customizer
  2. Navigate to Home > Navigation
  3. Click Add link > Choose type CATEGORY
  4. Enter the page name in the Link title (we recommend using the same title as you used for the category)
  5. Select the desired category from the dropdown > Save link
  6. Publish
