What is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server?

The Sellfy MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server securely bridges your Sellfy store and your favorite AI desktop tools or assistants (such as Claude).

Instead of logging into Sellfy and manually navigating through your dashboard to look up sales figures, review products, or check customer orders, the MCP server allows your AI assistant to read and manage your store data securely through natural language commands.

Examples:

  • "Create a digital product called Autumn Presets at 19.99."
  • "Attach this file to Autumn Presets and publish it."
  • "Create a landing page for my new product, Autumn Presets."
  • "How did last week compare with the week before?"
  • "Which five products earned the most this month?"
  • "Show the orders from [email protected]."
  • "Create a 20 percent discount code NEWSLETTER valid until Friday."
  • "Draft an email campaign announcing Autumn Presets and send me a test."
  • "List the reviews from the last 30 days with fewer than four stars."
  • "Start a new draft of my store, add a page for the course bundle, and give me a preview link."
  • "Publish the draft."
  • "Add these license keys to Autumn Presets."

What AI can I connect with Sellfy?

  • Claude Desktop App
  • Cursor IDE
  • Codex
  • Gemini CLI
  • VS Code
  • Zapier AI Agents
  • And more!

The Sellfy MCP server isn't tied to a single AI model or provider. Instead, it works with any AI assistant application or client that supports MCP.

You can use it with any AI model as long as it's through an MCP-compatible host app or interface.

How does it work?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) acts like a secure adapter. It allows your AI client to communicate with Sellfy's backend securely:

  1. You ask a question in your AI client (e.g., "How many digital downloads did I sell this week?").
  2. The AI requests data from the Sellfy MCP Server using secure authentication.
  3. The Sellfy MCP Server responds with the accurate data, allowing the AI to give you a clear, precise answer.

Steps to connect your AI agent

Connecting is super simple! It will be three steps.

  1. Add the server URL
  2. Sign in to Sellfy and approve access (a browser window will open)
  3. Re-authorize when prompted by Sellfy

Your AI agent may even be able to do the setup for you. Copy and paste this code:

Set up the Sellfy MCP server for me by following https://api.sellfy.com/agent-setup.md

What can I manage through AI?

Once connected, your AI assistant can perform store management tasks on your behalf.

    • Change your theme, including fonts, colors, and button and background styles. On plans that support custom code, Claude can also edit your custom head and footer code.
