How does Sellfy work?
Sellfy is an all-in-one e-commerce service designed for creators to sell digital and/or physical products, digital subscriptions or Print-on-demand merchandise online in a simple way. Depending on what you need, you can choose to build a store directly on Sellfy and sell from there or integrate our service into an existing website.
For digital products, we'll host your product files on our secure server, provide you with the checkout functionality and take care of delivering your orders to customers instantly after a purchase is confirmed. For physical products, we'll provide you with the checkout functionality however you will need to handle shipping and fulfill orders from your end.
To receive payments from customers, you can integrate PayPal or Stripe. It's up to you whether you want to use both checkout options to collect payments or only one or the other. In order to use Sellfy, you'll need to have at least one of the two connected to your Sellfy account.
Sellfy provides a variety of built-in features included with each plan, such as custom domain settings, store customization, sales analytics, discount codes, third-party integrations, purchase email customization, and more. We also offer more sophisticated tools such as email marketing and upselling with advanced plans (Business and Premium) to help you promote your online business.

How can I make money with Sellfy?
There are different ways to make money with Sellfy:

- Sell Print-on-demand merchandise and your own physical products
Important! There are some restrictions as to what content you can sell, please make sure that your products comply with our Product Guidelines. Not complying may result in the closure of your Sellfy store.
Sell your own digital products
Selling digital or physical products with Sellfy means that you have an existing product that you want to sell online. To sell your own digital or physical products with Sellfy, you need to choose a paid subscription plan.
Digital products - any type of digital file can be sold as a digital product including music, audio samples, films, videos, ebooks, software, graphic design, and others. For digital products, Sellfy provides secure file hosting, automated download link delivery to your customers' inbox, analytics, data collection (sales, buyer's information, tax, etc.), and much more. We also try our best to help you protect your products from piracy!
Digital subscription products - any type of digital file can be sold as a digital subscription products product including music, audio samples, films, videos, ebooks, software, graphic design, and others. You can sell your subscriptions on a weekly, monthly or annual basis and collect payments using PayPal.
Sell Print-on-demand merchandise and physical products
Note: You can use Sellfy's Free plan to offer up to 10 (POD and physical) products in total at any one time through your store.
Selling Print-on-demand merchandise allows you to sell online without creating your own digital or physical product. You don't need a paid subscription to sell POD or your own physical products with Sellfy.
Physical goods - for physical products, we provide basic shipping options and advanced product settings such as variants, stock limitations, and more, but fulfillment and shipping are your responsibility. Physical products are subject to legal and shipping-related limitations.
Print on demand (POD) - The merchandise feature is the most recent addition to the platform. You can design, create, and add items to your store, all through Sellfy. Printing, fulfillment, and shipping is handled by our partner facilities.

Does Sellfy promote my products?
Essentially, Sellfy is designed for creators and businesses who sell directly to their audience. We don't offer marketing or promotion services. Sellfy plays a rather technical role in your online business, so it's up to you to attract customers and to market your products. If you are just starting out with your online business, you may find useful tips and strategies to grow your business on our blog here.
Although we don't offer marketing or promotion services, we do offer features and integrations for advancing your marketing and sales for your products on Sellfy, like Upselling and simple Email Marketing (included with the Business and Premium plans).
How much does Sellfy cost?
Note: Although there are no additional fees with Sellfy subscriptions, the payment processors, PayPal and Stripe, both charge a fee for each transaction when using their service.
We offer four subscription plans:
- Free ($0/mo)
- Starter ($29/mo or $19/mo paid annually)
- Business ($79/mo or $49/mo paid annually)
- Premium ($129/mo or $89/mo paid annually)
The Free plan will have limited features but will allow you to sell print-on-demand merchandise, physical products and customize your store. The Starter, Business, and Premium plan all include features such as email marketing, custom domain settings, selling digital products, selling subscriptions, and more. Business and Premium plans provide more advanced tools such as cart abandonment and upselling. The Premium plan offers the most email credits, along with priority support from our team.

How can I start selling with Sellfy?
Sign up for a free 14-day trial and see how it all works.
During the 14-day trial, you'll be able to explore most of the features we offer. To activate the checkout and start selling products immediately, upgrade to one of our plans.
You can upgrade at any point during or after the trial. You're not required to enter payment information during the trial period so the upgrade won't happen automatically. But, please be aware that store info is only saved for 30 days after the trial. Once it's been longer than 30 days, we'll delete the store content.
Q: Are there any upfront fees for setting up an account and uploading products.
A: No! You can set up a storefront and upload products during our 14-day free trial. You can test all our features for free during this time. The checkout is enabled instantly after you choose your subscription plan.
Q: What are your prices? Is there a fixed price per month and how much? Is there a price per transaction and how much?
A: Sellfy operates on a subscription basis, not a commission basis. You pay a monthly or annual fee to use the service with no additional fees charged by Sellfy. Though, there are fees added per transaction by the payment processor, Stripe, and PayPal.
Q: If I start with a monthly subscription can I then upgrade to a yearly subscription?
A: Absolutely. You can start out with a monthly subscription and upgrade to a higher tier or yearly plan at any time. We’ll calculate the difference at the time of upgrading so you won’t pay for any days in your subscription twice.
Q: If I sign up for a monthly plan do I have a 30-day money-back guarantee?
A: If you sign up for a paid plan but find that Sellfy does not work for you, we can help cancel your subscription and issue a refund within the first 30 days of subscribing. After that, you can still cancel your subscription at any time however, we won’t be able to offer refunds. Rather, your subscription will end with the next billing date.
Q: Do you have a free plan?
A: Yes, we do have a free plan that offers access to some of our features at no cost.
Q: Do I have to start a plan to start selling?
A: Yes, in order to sell products with Sellfy, you need to have an active subscription plan. It’s not possible to sell products during the trial period as the store checkout is activated only once you start a subscription
Q: What are the U.S. and international fees for each product sold?
A: Sellfy does not charge fees on transactions. However, PayPal and Stripe will each charge a fee per transaction.
Q: How often do payments go out? Is there a waiting period since digital downloads are nonrefundable?
A: All payments go directly to your account - PayPal or Stripe. Sellfy does not collect or handle payments, so you won’t need to wait for payouts.
Q; How can customers pay me?
A: Customers can pay using PayPal and/or their credit card. It’s up to you which of the two payment methods you offer. You can integrate PayPal and Stripe (for card payments), or only use one or the other.
Q: If we want to take payments with a credit card, do we need to create a Stripe account?
A: Nope! Both PayPal and Stripe checkout will allow customers to pay with a credit card, no account required.
Q: Is it possible to import contacts from another email list that I've built?
A: Yes, we offer free migration with the Premium subscription. If you opt for the Starter or Business plan, there may be a fee for importing your subscriber list. Please send us an email at [email protected] for more details.
Q: Do you operate for UK citizens?
A: Yes! Sellfy operates internationally. You can sign up from anywhere in the world. To use Sellfy as a creator and sell your products online, all you need is a PayPal or Stripe account to collect payments.
Q: Can I charge and collect in Canadian dollars?
A: Sure! You can select from 24 different store currencies.
Q: Can I create multiple stores using one account?
A: No, You can only create one storefront per account.
Q: Can I add my staff to my Sellfy account?
A: No, it’s not yet possible to add multiple users to your Sellfy account.
Q: Can I offer courses through Sellfy?
A: Of course! You can offer courses as a digital product through Sellfy. Files can be streamable and/or downloadable.
Q: Can I link Sellfy to my site? I want to sell ebooks through my website.
A: Certainly! You can link Sellfy to an existing website using one of the three embed options we offer.
Q: Do I have to upload my products to Sellfy to sell them, even if I sell them from my own website?
A: Yes. For digital products, you have to upload your product files to Sellfy in order for us to deliver them to your customers.
Q: Would Sellfy be good if I am looking to sell yoga videos to my clients?
A: Yes, absolutely. You can use Sellfy to sell yoga videos to clients. You upload your videos to your Sellfy account, and we’ll deliver the download link to your customers.
Q: I need to create a Netflix-style subscription system. Is it possible?
A: No, unfortunately, this is not possible with Sellfy at the moment.
Q: Can I have some products that are free?
A: Sure, you can use the Freebie product feature to offer products free of charge.
Q: Can I let my customers choose how much they want to pay for my product?
A: Yes! You can enable the Pay-what-you-want option for any of your products so buyers can set their own prices. You can also set a minimum price at the same time.
Q: Can I sell services?
A: Yes, technically you can sell services using Sellfy. However, there are limitations to service products due to the functionality of our platform. Please email us at [email protected] for more information.
Q: Do you have a shopping cart that customers can add multiple items before checking out?
A: Absolutely. You can enable the shopping cart for your Sellfy store directly in your account. If you’re selling from your own website, you can simply embed our buy now button and the shopping cart feature.
Q: When a customer purchases a digital download, will Sellfy automatically issue the customer the downlink link after purchase?
A: Yes, that's correct! Sellfy will deliver the download link to your customers automatically, instantly after the transaction is processed and the order is confirmed.
Q: How do customers download the product after they have made a purchase?
A: They can download product files right away from the Confirmation page or via the download link we send them to their inbox after the order is confirmed.
Q: When someone buys music from my website from their phone, will it show up in their purchased playlist?
A: Customers will need to download the music file and transfer it to their device. It will not automatically show up on their device or in their playlist.
Q: Can I collect information about my customers to use for email and marketing campaigns?
A: Yes. We collect information about your customers for you, such as their email address, that is accessible via the Order Export in your Sellfy account. We recommend complying with GDPR when using a customer’s personal information.
Q: I’m worried about people sharing my product online. How does Sellfy protect my products?
A: Selling products online will always involve some risk of people sharing them with others. We do our best to prevent this. Read more here.
Q: Why is checkout greyed out and unavailable after selecting buy now? Do you have to select a plan before you can sell anything?
A: The 14-day trial is designed for you to try out Sellfy’s features. It’s not possible to sell products during the trial period. You can activate your checkout at any time by subscribing to a plan.
Q: Does Sellfy handle taxes like VAT?
A: Sellfy does not automatically collect or file taxes for you. However, we do offer tools for you to add and calculate taxes for your products and obtain tax reports. After you've enabled and configured taxes, Sellfy can collect these with each order. Read more here.
Q: Do you provide SEO settings?
A: Yes! We upload all stores and products to Google and offer you SEO settings in your Store Customizer. You can read about those here. It is important to note that though we offer SEO settings, we don't market your products as part of our service. You'll be responsible for marketing your store and products.
Q: Do you market my products?
A: No, we don’t offer marketing or promotion services. Sellfy provides the functionality to sell products online but we won't drive traffic or attract customers to your store. Instead, you'll want to take advantage of the SEO settings and share links to your store and products!
Q: How can I block customers from purchasing?
A: Unfortunately, it’s not technically possible to block any particular customer from making purchases in your store.
Q: Does Sellfy have an affiliate program for sellers?
A: At the moment, Sellfy does not offer an affiliate program for sellers to cooperate with their own affiliates. But we will be introducing this feature soon!
